Stretch forth your rod
The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
Psalm 110:2 KJV
Understanding your privileges and rights in Christ give you a edge over your adversaries. Many a times, the Devil takes advantage of your ignorance and fears. Alot of believers in Christ are truly walking in ignorance.
On getting to the Red Sea, Moses had to once again utilize the rod with which several signs and wonders were wrought in Egypt.
And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Exodus 14:15-16 KJV
Once again, God had to tell him to put the rod in his hands to work. You would be free from battles that moment you know what you have in your hands. Do not look down on who you are and what you have. These will boost your exercising authority.
When the enemy comes looking for you, put the rod to work.
- Put forth the rod of gratitude.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
Acts 16:25-27 KJV
- Put forth the rod of prayers and the Word of God.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
James 5:16-17 KJV
- Put forth the rod of the spoken word or your confessions.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mark 11:23 KJV
As the Red Sea was a threatening situation to the Jews, so likewise there are various situations stopping God’s people from moving forward in life. Just do what God told Moses to do; stretch forth your Rod. With the Rod of prayer, gratitude and your declarations, the Red Sea shall be parted before you. Hallelujah!
